Important update on our response to COVID-19

In late March, we took the difficult but necessary decision to close sites following the announcement by HM Government of a period of lockdown. This was the right decision to protect the health of our Family of colleagues, clients, residents and contracting partners and we are pleased to say our team and their loved ones have all remained safe and well.

Our thoughts have been with all who have been affected by this pandemic- those key workers who have worked tirelessly to keep us going, those who so sadly lost their lives and all the families kept apart.

In the interim period we have maintained a positive and constructive flow of communication with all our Family, with a view to put together a plan for a safe and timely return to work.

We are delighted to state that we now have a final plan in place to support our people as we look to restart work. This has been created by working closely with our Health and Safety advisor, remaining aware of best practice and most importantly by listening to all involved so we can tailor our response and reassure them that we are doing all we can to protect their health and wellbeing.

Over the next month, we will return to sites on an incremental basis. We will welcome back the first site teams from Monday 18th May.

We will be monitoring, auditing and assessing all live sites as we progress to ensure we properly manage our works, opening further sites only when it is safe to do so. We will aim to act promptly to complete ongoing projects and begin new works, but also to behave responsibly and with utmost care.

We have invested heavily in training during the period of closure including training specific to COVID-19 awareness and infection prevention and control and have built up an excellent stock of personal protective and hygiene equipment and cleaning materials. We are equipping all sites and returning staff with a suitable supply.

We are also excited that we have a great number of new project sites ready to begin- our plan will be put into action on all imminent projects and safety measures will be stringently managed.

We will remain in communication with all clients and residents in order to evolve safe, responsive and practical safety measures as required, and as ever we will strive to provide peace of mind to all, and work with our hands, heads and hearts with the sole aim of Making London Beautiful.
