Meet The Team

Dan O'Donoghue MCIOB

Managing Director

Dan has been with Bastows since 2014 and oversees every facet of our operation.

He graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Construction Management and attained Chartered status with the Chartered Institute of Building in 2017.

He has an expert eye for building client relationships as well as managing project tenders. Dan has been integral in creating the opportunities and defining the team that will take Bastows into the coming years, opening channels for more complex projects and developing a clear vision for our future.


Andy Raczinkaitis

Sales Director

Andy’s connection to Bastows goes back to the 1990s- we think he likes it here!

With a background in structural work, scaffolding, plumbing and heating engineering make him the natural choice to lead on the key final stages of a large refurbishment and roof extension project in W1.

His extensive experience in building excellent client relationships and as a Managing Director means Andy brings personality, trust, leadership and industry know-how to his role.

Niki McGrane Chartered MCIPD

Cultural Director

Niki joined Bastows in 2007 and has designed and implemented systems encompassing accreditations, HR, training and communications.

She attained Chartered Member status of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development in 2011 and has completed training to a Certification in Digital Marketing.

She has managed our marketing strategy which has seen our business recognised as a leader in our market and designed programmes that develop our investment in and care for our people.

Andy Mildner

Finance Director

Andy is a CIMA accountant with 25 years experience in private banking and private equity, having worked in Surrey, London and Guernsey and looked after clients from all over the world.

Andy can add ‘international sportsman’ as a string to his bow – having captained the Channel Islands for several years at the World 8 Ball Pool Championships.

He has worked with Bastows since 2010 and effectively manages all aspects of company finance and accounts.

Frank Bastow


Frank has been owner of the family firm for over 25 years, and it is during his tenure that we established relationships with London’s largest prestige property companies.

He’s a keen traveller and sportsman and is always at the heart of charity and community projects our team support- usually leading from the front as we cover 20 mile walks or tackle a trek up a mountain!

He has developed several other businesses in industries as diverse as coaching, software development and music.

Neil Ochiltree

Contracts Manager

Neil joined us very recently, with a background in contracts management of high-value prestigious projects for his previous companies.

He holds a BSc qualification in Construction Management, and has worked as a Surveyor and Contracts Manager for over twenty years. He is an excellent addition to the Family.

Neil has a strong commitment to timely and cost-effective project delivery alongside a sense of pride in ‘a job well done’; he works to develop excellent client relationships based on trust and confidence in his innate skills and abilities.


Alex Terry

Assistant Contracts Manager

Joining us in early 2020, Alex has extensive experience in the restoration and refurbishment of prestige homes. His positive approach and knowledge have already seen him establish himself as a respected member of the team.

He works alongside Neil to oversee the safe, efficient delivery of projects across London.

Alex is SMSTS qualified and is currently studying for his Level 6 NVQ. He originally hails from Chicago and we are delighted he’s chosen Bastows as his London family.

Matt Robins


Matt has been with Bastows since the beginning of 2018 and is a key and valued part of the Sales team.

Matt is currently studying the HNC in Construction qualification. He ensures that projects are priced in accordance with client specifications, and works to develop our network of specialist partners.

Matt works to ensure accuracy and prompt service, and has managed the pricing of complex and diverse projects.

Aimee Cooper

Buyer/ Business Administrator

Aimee joined the Bastows Family in 2020 and quickly progressed to oversee the Procurement and Buying side of the business.

She has completed research and training to enhance her natural abilities, and implemented effective systems to support our commitment to the Considerate Constructors Scheme.

Aimee is a gifted artist with a great eye for presentation and detail, and she incorporates her creative flair within her work. She is effective, organised and friendly and greatly enjoys building relationships with colleagues and clients.

Uzejir 'Chupo' Zecevic

Senior Site Manager

Chupo has been part of the Bastows family for almost 20 years, starting as a painter and decorator before progressing to Site Manager and Senior Site Manager in 2017.

He has attained NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management and led teams on many major projects across London, currently working with a key client in Marylebone.

His knowledge and expertise makes him invaluable to busy property managers who work with him- and new clients quickly come to know the value Chupo offers a project partnership.

Robert Piekarz

Site Manager

Bobby started with Bastows over 10 years ago as a Painter and Decorator.

He became a Site Supervisor and was quickly promoted again to Site Manager due to his dedication to client satisfaction and industry knowledge, and is currently working towards a high level NVQ qualification.

He has managed works across the city, currently overseeing a large project near London Bridge for a valued, long-standing client and is always especially focused on caring for residents and neighbours.

Alen Kasic

Site Manager

Alen has been with Bastows for over 10 years, developing excellent client relationships with his unique insight, technical knowledge and problem solving skills.

He achieved NVQ Level 7 in Project Management this year, and has managed some of the most complex projects we have undertaken in recent years, and is currently leading on a prestigious Kensington project for a new client.

Alen always ensures every detail is taken care of- giving clients complete peace of mind.

Gunars Locs

Site Manager

Gunars joined us in 2017 and is a trusted and valued member of the family.

He holds a level 4 NVQ in Construction Site Supervision and Management and is currently working on a large project near Buckingham Palace. He demonstrates a great understanding of property managers and residents needs, and is superbly organised.

Gunars’ rule for life is “Be consistent.”

Alan Crichton

Site Manager

Alan’s connection to Bastows goes back to the early 1990s, and after leaving us in 2010 to focus on development projects, we were delighted that he returned to the Family in 2019.

His extensive experience and knowledge in building and renovation is serving him very well on a large project site in Marylebone at present.

Alan works with a positive, ‘can do’ approach- meaning he is already very much in demand with our clients.

Kris Kociukow

Site Manager

Kris is a recent addition to the Family, joining us in July 2020.

He is SMSTS and NVQ qualified and has a proven track record in managing complex internal and external refurbishment projects in Central London.

With a background in joinery and carpentry, Kris understands the technical aspects of a task and has excellent problem solving skills.  He prides himself on knowing how to get the best from a team and deliver an exceptional result for clients and residents.

Peter Walton-Cook

Site Manager

Peter joined Bastows very recently and is currently managing a large external project in Battersea.

His qualifications and experience in managing high-value refurbishment projects ranging from £250,000 to £2.5m make him a great addition to the team.

Peter’s calm approach, problem-solving skills and attention to detail make him a popular colleague and means he will definitely be in demand with our clients too.

Craig Hursit

Site Manager

Craig is a recent addition to the team and he has already hit the ground running, stepping up to oversee a project in Knightsbridge.

His background is in refurbishment of listed and prestige homes, working to restore and develop properties to the highest standards.

Craig is NVQ and SMSTS qualified and his organised approach and positive outlook is already respected and valued.

Solomon Deselane

Supervisor/ Painter and Decorator

Solomon joined Bastows as an Apprentice Painter and Decorator in 2008, quickly proving his skill and ability to learn.

He became a Site Supervisor in 2017, and is NVQ and SSSTS qualified.

Solomon is well loved by us all for his calm demeanour, consideration for colleagues, exceptional insight and knowledge and focus on resident wellbeing.

Devral Hawkins

Supervisor/ Painter and Decorator

After joining the Bastows Family in 2017, Devral successfully completed his Apprenticeship and became NVQ qualified in 2019.

He has shown great commitment and ability and has fast become very much in demand across our projects.

Devral works continually to develop his knowledge and skills- he never allows himself to stand still- and is a popular, valued member of the team.

Sergiu Catirau


Sergiu joined Bastows in early 2020. His talent, approach and ambition saw him quickly complete his Supervisor training and spend his days supporting Site Managers and residents across projects.

Sergiu is SSSTS qualified and holds two BSc degrees in Business Management and Banking and Finance, but has decided his heart lies in construction- which is great news for us!

Hailing from Moldova, Sergiu has worked around the globe and has lived in London for four years. He also speaks four languages fluently!

Tommy Webb

Supervisor/ Painter and Decorator

Tommy has been part of our Family for so long, he’s often been referred to as ‘the heart of Bastows.’

Tommy is NVQ and SSSTS qualified and delivers trusted support for Site Managers, stepping up for every opportunity to help others.

His ability, knowledge and commitment to develop his colleagues is key to our success, and we love to see how he coaches others to attain his high standards.

Witold 'Will' Wilk

Senior Painter and Decorator

Will joined us over 15 years ago and is so much a part of things here that we can’t imagine Bastows without him.

Will is a keen cyclist and has completed many charity cycling events, helping Bastows raise money for several good causes over the years.

His qualifications and vast experience as a painter and decorator makes him the ‘go-to guy’ for any questions and we love how he takes time to do all he can to help anyone learn and succeed.
