Meet The Team

Dan O'Donoghue MCIOB

Managing Director

Dan has been with Bastows since 2014 and oversees every facet of our operation.

He graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Construction Management and attained Chartered status with the Chartered Institute of Building in 2017.

He has an expert eye for building client and colleague relationships as well as managing project tenders. Dan has been integral in creating the opportunities and defining the team that will take Bastows into the coming years, opening channels for more exciting projects and developing a clear vision for our future.


Niki McGrane Chartered MCIPD

People and Marketing Director

Niki joined Bastows in 2007 and has designed and implemented systems encompassing accreditations, HR, training and communications.

She attained Chartered Member status of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development in 2011 and has completed training to a Certification in Digital Marketing.

She has managed our marketing strategy which has seen our business recognised as a leader in our market and designed programmes that develop our investment in and care for our people.

Frank Bastow


Frank has been owner of the family firm for over 25 years, and it is during his tenure that we established relationships with London’s largest prestige property companies.

He’s a keen traveller and sportsman and is always at the heart of charity and community projects our team support- usually leading from the front as we cover 20 mile walks or tackle a trek up a mountain!

He has developed several other businesses in industries as diverse as coaching, software development and music.

Andy Mildner

Finance Director

Andy is a CIMA accountant with 25 years experience in private banking and private equity, having worked in Surrey, London and Guernsey and looked after clients from all over the world.

Andy can add ‘international sportsman’ as a string to his bow – having captained the Channel Islands for several years at the World 8 Ball Pool Championships.

He has worked with Bastows since 2010 and effectively manages all aspects of company finance and accounts.

Aimee Cooper

Head of Procurement

Aimee joined the Bastows Family in 2020 and quickly progressed to oversee the Procurement and Buying side of the business.

She has completed research and training to enhance her natural abilities, and been integral to the development and implementation of effective systems to support our commitment to the Considerate Constructors Scheme.

Aimee is a gifted artist with a great eye for presentation and detail, and she incorporates her creative flair within her work. She is effective, organised and friendly and greatly enjoys building relationships with colleagues and clients.

Paul Frith

Senior Contracts Manager

Paul has exceptional experience in the construction industry with 25 years as a Site Manager and 13 years as a Senior Construction and Contracts Manager. Paul leads on our larger projects and ensures quality in both service and delivery.

His background was originally in bricklaying and painting and decorating, and he is qualified to NVQ Level 6.

He is a keen fisherman (preferring river and carp fishing) and enjoys socialising, going to the gym and watching football.

Dean Fleming

Senior Contracts Manager

Dean joined the team in 2021 with a strong background in managing high specification residential, industrial, commercial and medical mechanical and electrical projects.

He brings great expertise in installation of power, fire and intruder alarm systems, conventional and intelligent lighting, underfloor heating, air conditioning systems and more.

He is qualified to NVQ Level 7 in Senior Construction Management and his professionalism and experience is greatly valued by colleagues and clients.

Verity Mardle BSc (Hons)

Contracts Manager

Verity joined the team in late 2020 after graduating with a BSc in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management from the University of Westminster.

Joining us in late 2020, she quickly showed a natural aptitude and love for contracts management, and has ensured the successful delivery of several projects in recent months- ensuring her promotion and ongoing success.

She firmly believes that “The best way to predict your future is to create it.”

Rostan Goosen

Contracts Manager

Rostan joined the team from a background in construction management that has taken him from South Africa to London and Australia- and luckily for us, back to London!

His experience encompasses internal and external refurbishment, and fit out of luxury properties and commercial premises.

Rostan has stepped in to oversee the completion of a £1.8m refurbishment project in Marylebone as well as supporting the delivery of other projects across London.

Uzejir 'Chupo' Zecevic

Quality Control Manager

Chupo has been part of the Bastows family for over 20 years, starting as a painter and decorator and perfecting the art of site management before becoming Quality Control Manager in 2021.

He has attained NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management and led teams on many major projects across London, meaning he is uniquely placed to ensure the consistent application of our values and standards in client and resident care, safety and quality of work.

His knowledge and expertise makes him key to our business, and his dedicated approach means clients value him immensely too.

Pranee Satchi BSc MCIOB

Quantity Surveyor

Pranee has a strong track record, having been an integral team member on projects across the UK, Sri Lanka and the Middle East.

He has honed his skills as the lead QS on high value commercial and private residential contracts, and is skilled in BIM, negotiation and procurement, cost planning and contract administration.

Pranee is a graduate of Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Moratuwa in Sri Lanka, and is passionate about cricket and badminton.

Chris Lippiatt BA (Hons)


Chris has joined us to support the continued growth of our business and will lead on tendering new projects as well as additional works on existing contracts.

He has a passion for construction that goes back to childhood, and we are delighted to have him on board for our next chapter.

Chris is a keen rugby player with a strong belief in teamwork, and believes that only by building trusted relationships before day one on site can we provide a solid foundation for successful projects.

Harvey Rosenbaum

Business Administrator

Harvey joined us with a great background in administration for major national retailers, and brings a wealth of skills and knowledge that will support strong, positive relationships with colleagues and clients.

He is also a qualified Teaching Assistant, having worked with children with severe autism and other special needs.

His commitment to development and training will support our aims as we grow our team and he is dedicated to promoting inclusion and diversity in our industry.

Nirvana Bharadia

Business Administrator

Nirvana has joined Bastows for a year as part of her ongoing studies towards a BA in Business Management at the University of Bournemouth.

She is working to achieve a good understanding of all elements of a business, with a special interest in people management and marketing.

We are delighted to have Nirvana on board and know she will bring the same commitment and enthusiasm to her work as she does to her studies.

Danny Griffin BSc (Hons)

Small Works Manager

Danny is a positive, solutions-focused construction manager who seeks to build knowledge and understanding of the built environment.

He attained his BSc in Construction Management in 2020 and has a specific interest in sustainability issues, general building works, maintenance and project management.

Danny is a true original who prides himself on his problem solving skills and resourcefulness.

Alen Kasic

Site Manager

Alen has been with Bastows for over 10 years, developing excellent client relationships with his unique insight, technical knowledge and problem solving skills.

He achieved NVQ Level 7 in Project Management this year, and has managed some of the most complex projects we have undertaken in recent years, and is currently leading on a refurbishment and structural renovations project in Notting Hill.

Alen always ensures every detail is taken care of- giving clients complete peace of mind.

Kris Kociukow

Site Manager

Kris is a recent addition to the Family, joining us in July 2020.

He is SMSTS and NVQ qualified and has a proven track record in managing complex internal and external refurbishment projects in Central London.

With a background in joinery and carpentry, Kris understands the technical aspects of a task and has excellent problem solving skills.  He prides himself on knowing how to get the best from a team and deliver an exceptional result for clients and residents.

Alan Crichton

Site Manager

Alan’s connection to Bastows goes back to the early 1990s, and after leaving us in 2010 to focus on development projects, we were delighted that he returned to the Family in 2019.

His extensive experience and knowledge in building and renovation is serving him very well on a large project site in Islington at present.

Alan works with a positive, ‘can do’ approach- meaning he is already very much in demand with our clients.

Tommy Webb

Site Manager

Tommy has been part of our Family for so long, he’s often been referred to as ‘the heart of Bastows.’

Tommy is extensively experienced and qualified and delivers on every project with a smile, building trust with residents and clients.

His ability, knowledge and commitment to develop younger colleagues is key to our success, and we love to see how he coaches others to attain his high standards.

Sergiu Catirau

Site Manager

Sergiu joined Bastows in early 2020. His talent, approach and ambition saw him quickly rise to Site Manager, with a talent for looking after both clients and residents across his projects.

Sergiu is SMSTS qualified and holds two BSc degrees in Business Management and Banking and Finance, but has decided his heart lies in construction- which is great news for us!

Hailing from Moldova, Sergiu has worked around the globe and has lived in London for four years. He also speaks four languages fluently and is progressing to study for a Masters qualification in 2022.

Sam McDougall


Sam joined the team in 2020 and rapidly impressed with his commitment to learning, self-development and project delivery, proving to be a team player at every turn and setting a great example to colleagues.

He is SSSTS qualified and currently working towards an NVQ qualification in Tiling.

Sam recently became a Dad too, welcoming a beautiful baby boy in late 2021.

Solomon Deselane


Solomon joined Bastows as an Apprentice Painter and Decorator in 2008, quickly proving his skill and ability to learn.

He became a Site Supervisor in 2017, and is NVQ and SSSTS qualified.

Solomon is well loved by us all for his calm demeanour, consideration for colleagues, exceptional insight and knowledge and focus on resident wellbeing.

Devral Hawkins


After joining the Bastows Family in 2017, Devral successfully completed his Apprenticeship and became NVQ qualified in 2019.

He has shown great commitment and ability and has fast become very much in demand across our projects.

Devral works continually to develop his knowledge and skills- he never allows himself to stand still- and is a popular, valued member of the team.
